I'm a visionary leader in the field of education, with over two decades of experience in business management and early childhood education. I'm also the founder and executive director of Kinderoo Children’s Academy and The Ocala Cultural Education Center of Innovation, both of which are research centers that provide stimulating environments designed to foster creativity and innovation through the use of intelligent materials and play spaces.
My passion for education was ignited when I attended a NAEYC Conference in Washington DC in 2005, where I was introduced to the Reggio Emilia approach to education. I was mentored by Dr. Walter Drew, whose research on hands-on adult play experiences with open-ended objects and recycled treasures inspired me to connect teachers' play with children's learning. Since then, I have become a leading voice in the field of early childhood education, serving on several state boards and task forces, including the Early Learning Coalition of Marion County, College of Central Florida, and the FLAEYC Play Chapter.
My primary goal is to equip teachers and children with the skillsets and mindsets necessary to thrive in a world of innovation. Through the practice of self-active research, documentation, reflection, and transformation, I aim to create a world where every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
